Ghumte Hill is one of the beautiful and attractive places to visit in Baglung District. It is regarded as an honor of Galkot. Ghumte Hill is located in Harichaur of Baglung District of Nepal. Pokhara and Gulmi are the nearest tourist places near it. It is the highest hill in Galkot Baglung district. From the top of the Ghumte Hill, we can see the beautiful Himalayas ranging from east to the west. One of the best and interesting fact of this Hill is that it is full of Nepal National flower Rhododendron during the spring season i.e. during the months of Chaitra and Baishakh (during March and April). Everyone who visits Galkot also climbs up to this hill and sees the beautiful scenario.
On the occasion of Baishakh Purnima which is celebrated as Buddha Purnima, many pilgrims visit the hill in order to worship in the temple named Siddha Baba. It is a very famous temple in Galkot. On the hill, we can find many historical and Religious instruments. Near the temple, there is a famous cave named Bhairav Cave. Every year thousands of people visit here. The name of 24th state king has also attached with the Bhairav Cave. In the year between 1665 to 1670, the Gorkha’s King Ram Shah came to live in Galkot. When he lived Galkot he went to the top of Ghumte. After worshiping in Siddha Baba temple he observed the beauty of Ghumte and found the Bhairav cave. He liked the cave and wanted to live in that cave. He lived there that’s why the cave is also called Ram Shah Cave.
Along with this, there is an extraordinary stick which is called Bhimsen Stick. It is remaining nowadays as a statue and carries a long history. Due to the lake of proof people of this place are unable to explain about the stick. It is believed that Ghumte hill has traces of gold mine and most of the part of the hill is covered by forest.
